Can I legally work in the UAE on a tourist visa?

No, working in the UAE on a tourist visa is illegal. In case you wish to work in the UAE, a work permit and a residency visa are needed.

 

What does a multiple-entry visa mean?

A multiple entry visa grants the visa holder permission to enter and leave the UAE as many times as he or she wants during the validity of a visa. Such a visa would be helpful for business travelers or travelers who intend to visit neighboring countries in the course of their stay.

 

What are the consequences if I overstay my visa?

Staying in the UAE after passing your visa period automatically attracts fines and charges. The fines run approximately at AED 200 per day for the first day and then AED 100 for each subsequent day. To get a tourist visa you need to hold a valid Indian passport with 6 months or more of validity remaining. A photo id such as a PAN card or a voter id as provided by the Indian government, a proof of your financial standing, your flight return tickets, voucher confirming your hotel stay during your tenure, among other related documents. Tourist visa is granted for 180 days, granting multiple entries, a transit visa allows single entry and is typically valid for 15 days.
