Inclusions

Is there an exemption for transit passengers?

Transit passengers, going through Serbia without leaving the international transit zone of the airport, are exempt from a visa requirement. In any case, visa requirements differ depending on the nationalities involved, and approval depends on the regulations of the embassy of that country, in which the applicant resides or is a citizen. For any specific rules applicable to your route, please consult the nearest Serbian embassy.

My visa application was refused. What do I do now?

Then you may submit a new application if the grounds for refusal are overcome.

The embassy or consulate should inform the applicant of the denial of his or her visa application and reasons for the refusal. An applicant may apply again after correcting an issue with the application or appeal a decision by submitting additional documentation.

Am I supposed to register myself at the local police in Serbia?

Yes, visitors foreign who sojourn in Serbia for more than 24 hours are required to register with the local police within 24 hours after arrival. If you stay in a hotel, they will normally take care of it. If you stay in private accommodation, your host should assist with the registration.

Can I use my Schengen visa to enter Serbia?

Serbia is not part of the Schengen Area so a Schengen visa does not automatically give you entry rights to Serbia. Please find out whether your country needs a visa for travel to Serbia .

Can I stay in Serbia for a longer period?

Yes, if you are on a visa or have a visa-free stay in Serbia, you are free to extend at the Serbian Ministry of Interior. This should be done before your visa or your 90-day stay runs out, and for a valid reason.
